Ashay U Cultural Enrichment Field Trips

To continue, expand and enrich the Ashay University experience, cultural field trips led by Mwalimu are being offered yearly.

Morocco, Senegal and The Gambia 2019

Continuing the Ashay U commitment to experiencing the Motherland, adding value to our lifelong learning, as well as giving back to our community through donations of school supplies and economic participation, students visited cultural sites in three African countries, including the slave dungeon of Goree’ Island in Senegal, a batik village and marketplaces in The Gambia and the second largest mosque in the world in Morocco.  One of our highlights was staying at the only Black-woman owned boutique hotel, Jnane Tamsna, in Marrakech, Morroco.
